Η Katharina Bolesch και ο Alexander Reichardt γιορτάζουν τα 25 χρόνια δημιουργίας στη Νάξο, με την έκθεση “Cycladic Whispers”, που παρουσιάζουν -από σήμερα και έως τις 12 Οκτωβρίου- στην Fish & Olive Gallery, που ίδρυσαν το 2006 στο υπέροχο Χαλκί της Νάξου, και την οποία επιμελείται η ιστορικός τέχνης, κυρία Λουίζα Καραπιδάκη. Η Καταρίνα και ο Άλεξ είναι σπουδαίοι καλλιτέχνες και τιμούν την Ελλάδα, αλλά είναι και δυο αγαπημένοι φίλοι μου. Είναι οι Γερμανοί από το χωριό, όπως συστήθηκαν στον αξέχαστο Τζίμη Πανούση, σε μια ταβέρνα στα Εξάρχεια το 2015. Χιλιόχρονοι και πάντα δημιουργικοί!

25 χρόνια παρουσίας στο νησί
Τα εικοσιπέντε χρόνια γόνιμης και δημιουργικής παρουσίας στο νησί της Νάξου εορτάζουν οι Katharina Bolesch και Alexander Reichardt με την έκθεση “Cycladic Whispers”, που παρουσιάζουν στην Fish & Olive Gallery, που ίδρυσαν το 2006 στο πανέμορφο Χαλκί της Νάξου. Την επιμέλεια της έκθεσης έχει η ιστορικός τέχνης, μέλος της AICA Λουίζα Καραπιδάκη.
Η έκθεση, που ανοίγει τις πύλες της στο φιλότεχνο κοινό στις 12 Αυγούστου, περιλαμβάνει μια νέα σειρά εντυπωσιακών έργων, που δημιούργησαν οι δύο καλλιτέχνες, φωτογραφία, κόσμημα, ζωγραφική, κεραμικά και μαρμάρινα γλυπτά τα οποία ψιθυρίζουν αρμονικά τους ήχους των Κυκλάδων, φέρουν το χρώμα και την αύρα της θάλασσας του Αιγαίου.
Ο Alexander και η Katharina τρέφουν βαθιά αγάπη για την Ελλάδα, την ελληνική ιστορία και τον πολιτισμό της, η οποία τους είχε καλλιεργηθεί από την οικογένειά τους, ήδη από τα παιδικά τους χρόνια. Επέλεξαν την Ελλάδα ως πατρίδα τους λόγω της αγάπης τους για τον τόπο και αποφάσισαν να εγκατασταθούν στην Νάξο γιατί, όπως δηλώνουν, «πουθενά αλλού δεν νοιώσαμε τόσο οικεία, όσο σε αυτόν τον παράδεισο, την Νάξο».
Η Fish & Olive ιδρύθηκε στις 11 Μαΐου του 2000 στο παραδοσιακό χωριό Χαλκί, αρχικά ως ατελιέ των δύο καλλιτεχνών και στη συνέχεια εγκαινιάστηκε στις 11 Αυγούστου του 2006 η Fish & Olive Gallery, μετά την πολυετή αποκατάσταση του παλαιού και απείρου κάλλους κτηρίου, όπου στεγάζεται.
Μάλιστα τον χώρο είχε εγκαινιάσει τότε η Νίκη Γουλανδρή, ιδρύτρια του Μουσείου Γουλανδρή Φυσικής Ιστορίας, ευεργέτιδα και βοτανική ζωγράφος, η οποία είχε αναφέρει στα εγκαίνια μαζί με τις ευχές της: «O Alexander και η Katharina τιμούν τα «αιώνια Ελληνικά σύμβολα», την ελιά και τη θάλασσα!».
Όπως σημειώνει η ιστορικός τέχνης Λουίζα Καραπιδάκη: «Ο Alexander, λάτρης της θάλασσας και της Μεσογείου, το σταυροδρόμι των πολιτισμών, φιλοτεχνεί γλυπτά από μάρμαρο, ζωγραφίζει πορσελάνες και κατασκευάζει κοσμήματα με κεντρικό θέμα τα ψάρια. Η τέχνη του, με τα μπλε της θάλασσας και τα άσπρα των κυμάτων, χαρακτηρίζεται από ένα έντονο μινιμαλισμό και την απαράμιλλη υψηλή αισθητική του.
Η Katharina εμπνέεται από καθημερινές εικόνες της υπαίθρου της Νάξου και φιλοτεχνεί έργα τέχνης ρεαλιστικής μορφής με πορσελάνη. Έχει το θέμα της ελιάς ως κινητήρια έμπνευση και αποδίδει τριδιάστατα τα κλαδιά και τους καρπούς του ευλογημένου δέντρου με τα πράσινα χαρακτηριστικά χρώματα και τους ιριδισμούς των φυλλωμάτων της.»
Αναφερόμενη στον τίτλο που επέλεξαν οι δύο καλλιτέχνες να δώσουν στην γκαλερί τους, επισημαίνει: «Το όνομα Fish & Olive επιλέχθηκε γιατί η θάλασσα είναι δύναμη, πηγή ζωής, ελευθερία, επικοινωνία, και η ελιά είναι η ίδια η ζωή, δένδρο, τροφή, υγεία, ειρήνη, κατευναστική ενέργεια, ανανέωση και αθανασία.
Ο Alexander και η Katharina ερωτεύτηκαν με πάθος την Ελλάδα, το Αιγαίο, τη Νάξο και αφιερώθηκαν στο Χαλκί και την τέχνη τους. Τα έργα τους έχουν ψυχή και δύναμη γιατί εκπέμπουν το φως και την αύρα του αιγαιοπελαγίτικου νησιού και παραπέμπουν σε πανάρχαιους πολιτισμούς και άπειρους διαχρονικούς συμβολισμούς.»

25 years of presence on the island
Katharina Bolesch and Alexander Reichardt celebrate twenty-five years of fruitful and creative presence on the island of Naxos with the exhibition “Cycladic Whispers”, which they present at the Fish & Olive Gallery they founded in 2006 in the beautiful Chalki of Naxos. The exhibition is curated by art historian and AICA member Louisa Karapidaki.
The exhibition, which opens its doors to the art-loving public on August 12, presents a new series of impressive works created by the two artists, including photography, jewelry, painting, ceramics and marble sculptures that harmoniously resonate the whispers of the Cycladic islands, dressed in the colors and breeze of the Aegean Sea.
Alexander and Katharina share a deep love for Greece, its history and culture, which was cultivated and carried on to them by their family since their childhood. They both chose Greece as their homeland due to their love for the place and decided to settle in Naxos because, as they state, “nowhere else did we feel as at home as in this paradise, Naxos.”
Fish & Olive was founded on May 11, 2000 in the traditional village of Chalki, initially serving as a studio for the two artists; after many years of restoration of the old, yet immensely beautiful building, where it is housed, the Fish & Olive Gallery begun its operation on August 11, 2006. In fact, the space was inaugurated then by Niki Goulandris, founder of the Goulandris Museum of Natural History, benefactor and botanical painter, who stated along with her wishes at the opening ceremony: “Alexander and Katharina honor the “eternal Greek symbols”, the olive tree and the sea!”
As art historian Louisa Karapidaki notes: “Alexander, a lover of the sea and the Mediterranean, which is a crossroads of civilizations, crafts marble sculptures, paints objects made of porcelain and makes jewelry using the figure the fish as his main theme. His art, which combines the blue of the sea and the white of the foam on its waves, is characterized by his unparalleled high aesthetics and intense minimalism.
Katharina draws her inspiration from images of everyday life in the countryside of Naxos and creates realistic works of art made of porcelain. Focusing on the image of the olive tree as her source of inspiration, she produces three dimentional depictions of the branches and fruit of the blessed tree with the characteristic shades of green and iridescence hues of its foliage.
Referring to the title that the two artists chose to give their gallery, she points out: “the name Fish & Olive was chosen for their Gallery because the sea has great power and is a source of life, as well as being a symbol of freedom and communication; additionally the olive tree symbolizes life itself, since the tree provides nutrition and endorses good health, and at the same time offers peace and calming energy hence leading to rejuvenation and immortality.
Alex and Katharina fell passionately in love with Greece, the Aegean, and the island of Naxos itself and dedicated themselves to Chalki and their art. Their works display strong feeling and great spiritual energy as they give off the light and aura of the Aegean island of Naxos and allude to ancient civilizations and infinite timeless symbolisms.
